The Music Boosters provide scholarships to graduating seniors who have taken one or more band classes in the Harrison High School Music Program, at any time, and have been accepted into an accredited college full-time, majoring in a field of music study including performance, education, or engineering or pursuing a musical venture while furthering their educational career (eg. joining the Marching Band, Jazz Band, etc).
Two $500 scholarships will be awarded. Any member of the band or color guard will have the opportunity to win one of the available scholarships. The scholarships are awarded at the Senior Awards Ceremony after an application and interview process conducted by the Music Booster Scholarship Committee. This independent committee consists of directors, administrators, and community members not currently affiliated with the Harrison Music Boosters. The award winners will be announced and presented at the final Concert Band concert of the year in May. The check for $500 will be made out to the winner and sent upon verification of enrollment in a qualifying major or activity.
These scholarships are available because of the many music parents who volunteer their time to work concession stands and our various other fundraising activities. Thank you to all the parents and all other donors and volunteers!
Senior students and their parents are reminded to apply for scholarships by April 1st.
Scholarship Application can be downloaded at Music Booster Scholarship Application. Submit completed applications to Mr. Egan or place in the Booster mailbox on the music director’s door.
